The Fire District consists of a Five (5) member District Board of Directors, Five (5) Full-time staff members, and approximately ??? professional firefighters. The Fire District covers 9.5 square miles from two-strategically located Fire Stations and is responsible for providing Fire Protection Services to the following municipalities: City of Wheat Ridge, City of Lakewood, Town of Mountain View, Town of Lakeside, and Crown Hill Cemetery and Park located in unincorporated Jefferson County.
Fire Station 71 is located at 3880 Upham Street and houses the Administrative offices for the Fire District. Firehouse 72 is located at 10901 W. 38th Ave and houses the Fire Investigation Bureau office.
Currently, the Fire District holds an Insurance Service Offices (ISO) Class Four (4) rating.
The achievement of an ISO Class One (1) rating is listed as a main goal and objective within the 2010-2012 Strategic Plan. |
